Nimrod Alexander was born in 1884 to a Turkish family of Aramaic speaking Jews that lived in the Ottoman Empire before WW I. His grandfather was Malik Qambar, a Jewish merchant born in Istanbul, Turkey. He was a handsome and brilliant man who noticed his grandson was exceptionally intelligent and began teaching him about doing business buying and selling in the markets of Istanbul. Nimrod boarded a ship headed for the US one day — he was four years old — and ended up in NYC. He was discovered by nuns and Jesuits wandering around hungry and disheveled and was placed in an orphanage. By the time he was twelve years old, he had learned how to make clothes. He graduated from high school at age seventeen, and he was already a master tailor of women clothing and began working in the NYC garment industry selling gowns at $1000 to $2000. Later he worked for a tailor and made gowns that sold at $10,000 to $20,000 to NYC socialites. In 1909, he met Louise Brooks, a Ziegfeld Dollies dancer. Nimrod Alexander invested some money with Ziegfeld and began to manage Louise Brooks’ career as an actress making silent movies.
Nimrod Alexander discovered the family of Dr. Alexander who were born in Turkey and were being taken care of by Katherine Alexander. Dr. Alexander, the grandson of Malik Qambar had sent his children to the US so as to escape WW I, which was about to breakdown the Ottoman Empire because oil had been discovered by the Europeans in 1834. Katherine Alexander took care of her brothers Cyrus and Daniel Alexander who worked in the restaurant business in Chicago, where there was a growing community of Assyrians from Turkey and Iran escaping from WW I which began in 1913. In 1916, John Alexander joined them, after his father Dr. Alexander died in Urmi, Iran, in 1915, where he had built the first three story house after he had graduated from the American Presbyterian Missionary College the Qalllah, which meant ‘Castle’ in English.
Dr. Alexander went with the American Missionaries to treat Turkish leaders and village chiefs. He was paid in gold coins. He amassed a great deal of wealth. The Allies came to the Middle East after oil was discovered there in 1934. The French, the British, and the Americans came there to establish a presence in Iran, Iraq, and the Arabian Peninsula. The Christians in North Iran, around the City of Urmi was the choice of the United States of America because Assyrians were Christians and it was more natural that the American Presbyterian would come there to preach to them. All Assyrian tribes both in Turkey and Iran belonged to the Ancient Church of the East. Dr. Alexander was befriended by Dr. William Shedd of Princeton Seminary. There was also Joseph Cochrane I who also came from Princeton University Seminary with his wife who was also from the US. Dr. Joseph Cochrane II was born in Urmi and became known as Hachim Sahab, which meant that everyone called him Sir Joseph Cochrane. He was born in Urmi and his son Dr. Joseph Cochrane II was also born in Urmi, Iran. The last two Cochranes also spoke fluent Assyrian.
WW II broke out in 1913, and by 1915, Typhus broke out and my father together with Dr. William Shedd both contracted the disease from the families of the Assyrians and the soldiers that enlisted to fight the Turks and the Kurds who sided with the Axis Powers. Dr Alexander died in 1915 and Dr. William Shedd died the following year.
Dr. Alexander’s main distinctions were that he sent all his children to the US out of harm’s way before the war broke out; however Darius Alexander who was eighteen year’s old had enlisted in the Agha Putros Army. Agha Putros had converted to Catholicism, but Darius Alexander was a Presbyterian, who was also aligned with the Ancient Church of the East and remained loyal to the Church of the East until his death in San Francisco at the age of 77. Darius Alexander was born in 1897. Dr. Alexander married a lady of the Mar Shimun family. Darius Alexander would tell everyone that he danced in his mother’s wedding. All three children of Dr. Alexander with his second wife died in the Typhus epidemic of 1915. Dr. Alexander had heard that there was a widow by the name of Vartouhi of Yerevan. He decided to save her from the genocide of the Armenians in Turkey, were her father and two uncles had already been killed. Vartouhi Alexander became the matriarch of the Dr. Alexander children, namely Nimrud Alexander, Dr. Alexander’s son by Sarah of B’nai Ardishai who had three children by Dr. Alexander, George, Charlie and Joanne. In the exodus out of Urmi, the Agha Putros and his army went south through Iran. Darius Alexander led Vartouhi and her three children out of Urmi, with his own brother Nimrud Alexander who was sixteen years old and his half brothers George, Charlie, and his half sister Joanne out of Urmi and to Bacouba on the border of Iraq, where the British officers and advisers set up camp for the Assyrian refugees from Urmi. The Turkish Assyrian tribesmen went south through Iraq, and Agha Putros who had converted to Catholicism let them to Syria and from there to France.
Malik Yacoub of the Tiarreh and Malik Loco of the Tkhomeh tribes who were aligned with the British and under the command of General David D’Mar Shimun went through Mesopotamia and secured the borders of Iraq for the British, this allowed for British Petroleum to become established in Iraq and Iran, thus the British policy and their policy to have the Assyrians as their Smallest Ally paid off for the Assyrians of Iraq and Iran. In 1918, WW I was over.
Darius Alexander led his brother Nimrud Alexander and the Vartouhi of Yerevan Armenian family to safety in Kirkuk, Iraq, where he bought for them a house where they all stayed until the end of WW II.
Nimrud Youkhanna Malik Qambar, who was born in 1884 before WW I, was asked in 1906 by the US Government to form the CIA. At 18, he became the first CIA chief, a position which was not of immediate value; however, as WW I had broken out in 1913, seven years after Nimrud had created the Agency, he was asked by the US leadership to lead the US as the CIA General, but as the US was not prepared for war, Nimrud began to convert the US industries into factories for the armaments, such as tanks and war planes that became the most effective means of winning the First World War for the Allies.
The British and US policy was to bring Turkey’s Assyrian tribes into Iran in order to help the British to defeat Turkey during WW I. This did not happen because Turkey was too powerful, as it had joined Germany under Kaiser Wilhelm, and was able to drive out the Assyrian tribes, defeat the Armenian army and the Greeks who also lived in Turkey. Although the British lost in Urmi, Iran, they did defeat Ottoman Turkey and drove them out of the Arabian Peninsula, where the biggest oil fields lay.
The US, from the start of WW I had not planned on expansionist policies into the Middle East because the US had plenty of oil in the ground, where oil is the decay of the vegetation and the dinosaur carcasses. While the British, France and other European countries colonized and developed the oil producing Middle East, the US concentrated on recovering its infrastructure damaged and the loss of its troops during WW I, which totaled about 58,000 men.
As Nimrud Youkhanna Malik Qambar returned from the field in WW I, he adopted the Alexander family as his own, as he was also the grandson of the same Malik Qambar as Dr. Alexander was. Malik Qambar’s favorite grandson was Dr. Alexander, born in Turkey as himself and a man who was respected by the American Missionaries from Princeton University Seminary, especially as Dr. William Shedd and Dr. Alexander of Gawar, Turkey, had been both the martyr’s of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America. Dr. William Shedd was also the nephew of the President of Princeton University and the Princeton Seminary as well.
Nimrud Alexander became the official name of the man who created the CIA in 1906, the CID in 1907, and INTERPOL and later on. Nimrud Alexander created the League of Nations to deal with the aftermath of WW I. He brought Mar Eshaya Shimun XXIII to appeal the case of the Assyrians before the nations, but an autonomous state for the Assyrians in the land of their ancestors was not feasible, as there were not enough Assyrian left in the Middle East, and especially in Mesopotamia. Ironically, Iraq was called Mesopotamia by the United States until 1932, and Great Britain also ended its Protectorate of Iraq and concentrated on importing oil from their hard-won territories of the Middle East, oil being a precious source of energy which was not to be found in under English soil.
Nimrud Alexander built the United Nations building which became the place where all countries of the world would bring their cases for discussion and resolution. The UN became very important especially after WW II.
Nimrud Alexander’s work for the CIA became extremely complex, and as it is beyond the interest of this webpage, it should be noted that Nimrud Alexander returned to his interest in the movie business which he was a major influence starting in 1909, when he began producing silent movies. His leading actress was Louise Brooks of the Ziegfeld Dollies, who was his chief model. On a 50personal level Nimrud Alexander went to Moscow and married Margarita Eliya Isaac and brought her with her family to Iran at the start of WW II, so she could birth for his son Victor Nimrud Alexander. However, unexpectedly Nimrud Alexander, the youngest son of Dr. Alexander also took an interest in Margarita and proposed marriage to her in Iran, and her mother Soriya Youkhanna Malham, the wife of Eliyah ‘Enwiya’ Isaac decided to marry her to the grandson of Dr. Alexander who was very highly regarded in Iran. This fatal error caused a great deal of pain for Margaret who now had to marry a man who was not only the youngest son of Dr. Alexander of Gower, but who was with the British Royal Air Force and would help her family financially in Iran. At this point, Nimrud Alexander who was Jewish and the head of the CIA decided to abandon his only son, yet to be born, in the hands of a family that would take him off his hands; but when the time came, when Margaret Alexander who was a midwife sent word to the US and Nimrud Alexander, the Jewish father to come for her so her twins would be born in the United States of America.
Nimrud Alexander came with a military jet and transported Margaret Alexander together with her second husband Nimrud Alexander, the son of Dr. Alexander to the San Francisco, where he would be born on May 7, 1943 at the French Hospital. Since Margaret Alexander knew that she had twins, she first gave birth to Victoria Alexander, a non-identical twin of Victor Alexander who came with his feet first and was born half an hour later, just past midnight on May 7, 1943.
Nimrud the grandson of Malik Qambar, a Jewish merchant from Istanbul, knew that he was the father of Vic Alexander, and Margaret Alexander also knew it, so she allowed Nimrud Malik Qambar to keep his son in the US as WW II had started in 1939, and the Jewish father of Vic Alexander was the CIA General fighting for the US to win the war. He kept Vic Alexander and said to Margaret to return to Kirkuk, Iraq with her second husband Nimrud the youngest son of Dr. Alexander where he still had work with the British Royal Air Force as translator and supply officer. Nimrud Alexander had spent seven years in Marseilles and had become a tailor. He also spoke, besides French, English, Assyrian, Kurdish, Turkish, Armenian, Persian, Indian, and some Russian.
Nimrud Malik Qambar brought his only son and future heir to Kirkuk, Iraq, and left him there even after the war; but never neglected him. After WW II was over, the father of Vic Alexander concentrated on his work as a film producer. He never married; however, he had many love affairs. He was the most important pioneer in the movie business. The most noteworthy accomplishments were the creation of the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences. He created the Oscars and was one of the proponents of the Cannes Film Festival and the Palm d’Or awards.
In the movie business he was known as Nimrod Alexander. He encouraged mostly Jewish actors, directors and producers, as he they had the biggest interest in the movie business. He worked with Orson Wells and had a high regard for him as an actor, writer and director. He had casual marriages to Louise Brooks, Yvonne DeCarlo, and Hedy Lamarr.
The movie that best depicts the life of Nimrod Alexander is The Artist, which was the story of how the movies began as silent pictures and later added sound and became a great vehicle for Broadway musicals. He financed All That Jazz, directed by Bob Fosse and starring Roy Scheider.
The last movie he financed was American Hustle; Nimrod Alexander will remain an unknown film producer, mostly because he was involved with CIA work most of his life. The last war he was involved with as CIA was the Vietnam War.
Nimrod Alexander shall remain as a mysterious character with the exception of a few men and women who would still remember him as a major pioneer of the film industry. He was great friends with Greta Garbo, Gloria Swanson, Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks Jr and Sr. He brought D. W. Griffith to Hollywood in the early 1900s. He sold RKO to Howard Hughes for $50,000,000 at midnight in the parking lot of what became later Paramount Studios. Sherry Lansing was one of his young friends. He knew Ernest Hemingway and Scott Fitzgerald. He brought Charlie Chaplin to the US.
Nimrod Alexander built the Chinese Groman’s Theater and created the stars on the Walk of Fame in front of it. He also created the Academy of Arts and Sciences, and came up with the Oscar as an award to actors, actresses, producers, directors, writers, cinematographers, editors, etc. He posed in the nude and brought a sculptor who sculpted him standing with a sword before his penis. The sculpture was built on an armature and later cast in copper and polished to bronze. Nimrod Alexander was six foot, three inches and the Oscars displaced in the various buildings and in the main screening room all are full sized; but the actual statuette that is given as an Oscar award is about one foot long.
Nimrod Alexander never thought of giving himself an Oscar, and because of his CIA work, he didn’t allow many pictures of himself bearing his name. When he decided to be placed in a sepulcher it was about 2017.
Nimrod Alexander was highly influential as a CIA man. He made it possible for Howard Hughes to secure a government contract from the Federal Government to fly AIR MAIL for the first time coast to coast for two years. Nimrod Alexander also sold RKO Studios to Howard Hughes for $50,000,000. RKO later became Paramount Studios.
Nimrod Alexander brought the German scientist Werner Von Braun from Germany as WW II broke out, and later when President John Fitzgerald Kennedy decided for the US to put a man on the moon, Nimrod Alexander worked with Werner Von Braun in order to make it possible for a rocket carrying a landing craft to land on the moon and to allow an astronaut to walk on the moon, collect samples and plant the American Flag, and after a number of missions the US was able to go to the moon and later to Mars. This is a very brief history of who Nimrod Alexander is; there will never be another Nimrod Alexander.
